Careers and Jobs are often used interchangeably but are two different aspects. They are interconnected. A career is a journey that incorporates different jobs.

Job is a short-term goal and temporary. The work you do is purely for the pay to fulfil and take care of your needs. So it is done for the money you ought to receive and not out of passion or interest. While a career is a long-term goal and you are in pursuit of achieving greater in your life.

The job makes you sick of Mondays and beating the blues is as difficult and the job you do. You are always in pursuit of a change or a new job, you are there because you have to be there. You are motivated by external factors that are the responsibility you hold to care for your family and other personal needs. In your career, your Mondays are happier and energetic. You are in your career because you want to be there. you are driven by your passion and enthusiasm.

It's a real struggle to be in a job. You do the bare minimum for the pay and you don't have time for anything else in your life. You are exhausted. Jobs include editing, being a cashier, a retail stock clerk. Whereas a career is where you grow and build yourself. Progress is right before you and it paves a new way. You are in the process of mastering something. Career fields cover journalism, politics, teaching, finance, and so on.

A job is your occupation, it can be part-time or full-time. Job is a part of your career journey. Your career, therefore, includes different jobs you do in a similar field over the years. It is the total progression of your professional life.

The irony is a job doesn't have to make you happy, satisfying, or fulfilling, it just has to pay you for the time and skills you spend on it. For this, you need to have the skills, expertise, and education required for each job.

We will take the example of a doctor. He starts his career as a physician after completing his education. He after gaining more experience becomes a surgeon. While working as a surgeon he can become a lecturer, teach medical students. Physician, surgeon, and lecturing are the jobs he does in his career journey. All these jobs belong to the same field that is medicine.

In general, both means being employed and earning a living. Unlike in jobs, you feel a sense of self-worth and a sense of accomplishment in careers. A career is like a ladder, as you climb you are one step closer to success and achieving what you want, learning a skill, and gaining knowledge.

Now what you need to think about is, is your career your calling? Does your job fascinate you? Do you wake up every morning eagerly waiting to do your job? Have you ever felt that you are working? If not you are in the wrong place. Following your passion is following your heart and doing what you like. If it doesn't make you happy and satisfied, why do you have to stick to it?

Like already mentioned, the pay is what holds them back from resigning from the job they don't enjoy. If you are truly passionate about something you are sure to make it happen no matter what. Your career should encompass your passion, skill, interest and your ambition is what should drive you.

Do remember, never quit your job until your passive income is more than what you currently earn. Balance your work life with a side hustle, something you are passionate about, and success is destined.
